When you are riding in cold, wet weather, it sucks. No need to mention it to your riding partner.
Train slow and you’ll race slow.
Air travel sucks.
You won’t lose fitness by missing a day or two of training, especially if you are sick.
Speaking of being sick, if you are then stay home! You aren’t being a trooper by coming to work, you are infecting everyone else.
If you want to lose weight, don’t eat so much.
Television is a waste of time and productivity. But it’s entertaining.
Without set goals, it’s hard to move forward.
Many of us try to convince ourselves that we are stepping outside our comfort zones when we know we truly are playing it safe.
At the end of a long, hot ride, there’s not much better than an ice cold coke. Except for an ice cold beer.
Winter will end.

I've been thinking about this one lately. This year's IM MOO I'll be stepping outside the comfort zone....at least I hope to.
May need to talk to you about that.
Eric, it depends for you. If your goal is to go there and finish and whatever time you do is fine, well, you have done an IM before so you know you can finish one. Hell, I can send you out next week to swim 2.4, bike 112, and run 26.2 and you can do it. It may not be that fast this time of the year but you now know based on LP that you can conquer the distance. For you now, stepping outside your comfort zone would be setting a more specific goal there. Feel free to contact me to discuss this further any time.

The race is over, go have some fun and forget about triathlon for a few days.

I agree Rob. I enjoy reading some race reports and recommend that my athletes keep them purely for the sake of reflecting back on what they have done. If they want to share, then that's up to them, but some of them are so tedious covering every little detail. I enjoy the more off beat ones.

What a great comment. Ever since I've read this I find myself asking myself if I'm out of my comfort zone when I'm doing a hill repeat, hard effort swim or other hard interval and start to "feel" it. I figure that if I have the time to consider whether I'm out of my comfort zone - I'm probably in it.
